CQC -Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of all health and social care in England.

The Practice has been approved 'Good' after it's approval of a new partner, November 2019

They monitor, inspect and regulate all hospital, care homes, home-care agencies, GP practices and dental practices

They do this by inspecting services and publishing the results on our website to help you make better decisions about the care you receive.

CQC  principles

Throughout everything they do, they always:

  • put people who use services at the heart of their work.
  • have an open and accessible culture.
  • are independent, rigorous, fair and consistent.
  • work in partnership across the health and social care system.
  • are committed to being a high-performing organisation.
  • promote equality, diversity and human right

How they do their job

Inspecting all health and social care services in England is a big job, but it’s not all they do. To make sure people receive safe and effective care, they also take enforcement action, register services, work with other organisations and more.

The locum agency we use has their own regulatory checks prior to application. The practice manager has always checked the GMC registration via the website on all locums. Any restrictions would be addressed. To date the practice manager has not found any restrictions on any of the locums who have worked at Holmlands Medical Centre. The CV’s sent by the locum agency also has a photograph of the locum.
